Riccardo Prosperi – in art SIMAFRA – is a young Florentine artist. He began painting in 2000 and learnt the art of decoration and classic restoration working 5 years in a renowned workshop in Florence. His studies with the master and painter Ottavio Troiano are fundamental for his artistic background.
In 2004 he began participating in artistic contests and group exhibitions in Tuscany, and from 2007 he exhibits in National and International galleries. In 2008 he briefly lived in Paris, and won the price “Premio Italia”. In 2009 he started a collaboration with the Ken’s gallery of Florence. Between 2010 and 2011 he lived in Germany and collaborated with the gallery Golkar in Bonn and Infantellina Contemporary in Berlin.
His artworks are placed in important National and International private collections.
In 2012 he participated in Art Arsenal, the International biennale of Kiev, and during the same year in January he founded the Bottega Moderna: an independent cultural space and artist’s studio. In August 2013 he participated in the group show Odds & Sods organized at the prestigious gallery Art Moore House (designed by Norman Foster) in London and in December he exhibited at the Cadogan Contemporary Gallery.
In 2011 he worked with architect Michele Bonan and with the company Dimore Collection in Florence, as well as with the historical company of carpet Boralevi in Florence designing the graphic layout for the production of Contemporary Carpets.
Since 2014 he started working with the French gallery Virginie Barrou Planquart and participating in European art fairs, and in March 2015 he had his first solo show in France. The same year in May he exhibited in Pietrasanta at Palazzo Panichi, presenting “The 4 Seasons of Simafra”, a project made of four impressive artworks sized by 4x3m. In September the exhibition was showed again in the prestigious space of Palazzo Gianfigliazzi Bonaparte in Florence, and in December he started to collaborate with the Maddox Gallery Mayfair in London.
